Planning Ahead to Retirement

Horseriding in the waves

It is estimated that more than seven million people in the UK are not saving enough for their retirement. With the demise of occupational pension schemes the responsibility is on each of us to make sure that we’re putting enough away now for those later years, and the earlier we start the better the outcome could be.

It is estimated that men and women in their twenties now can expect to live to between 80 and 95. For someone expecting to retire at 65, that’s potentially 30 years of not working – that will need to be paid for somehow.

In the words of a wise woman of 90 - "start saving for your retirement from your first paycheck". Many of us, however, put off any serious retirement saving until much later in life, and risk making it too little too late.

...did you know?

A 60 year old woman retiring now on an pension of £20,000pa (with 3%pa increases) would need a fund in the region of £500,000.

Knowing how much to save, where and how often needs a bit of help. Many Juniper clients have benefited from an individual retirement planning report which:

The report is an invaluable financial planning guide and is often the starting point for a client to start taking control of their future finances.
